Garage success stories exist for computers and bands only? Think again: In 1965 AMG founders Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher built their first 300 SE direct injection engine at Aufrecht's home...just for fun. Fast forward to 2003 Mercedes-AMG unveiled the SL55, which rewrote the definition of what a luxurious sports car represents by combining the regular SL-series incredible refinement and comfort with an adrenaline inducing Supercharged V8 engine. Lusso Fine Motorcars is proud to offer this beautiful low mileage, tastefully modified Black on Black SL55 AMG.
There aren't many choices when it comes to making the timeless body lines of the SL-series even more aggressive and sleek, but the ultra rare ($12k) Misha-Design Black Series SL-M Widebody kit, accomplished just that. In the process of the wide body kit installation the front headlight design was updated to a 2009+ Style as well as the optional Carbon Fiber front lip, rear diffuser, hood vents, and rear bumper vents pieces were installed . With the car being substantially wider than stock form, the custom ($7k) gloss black set of Forgiato Maglia ECL wheels in 20"/21" stagger wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sports were installed to fill the space in the large wheel wells. To add style, and to showcase the massive AMG braking system, the calipers were powder coated bright yellow.
The Mercedes AMG Charcoal leather/wood trim combination flows through the complete interior and creates a subtle, classy feel. The optional Active ventilated heated/cooled seats further the comfort level of the driver along with dual climate A/C control. The original COMAND navigation has been replaced with a more user friendly Bluetooth compatible Pioneer AVIC-90BT Navigation display.
Under the front bonnet rests the heart of the beast, a supercharged 5.4L AMG V8 generating 493Hp/516ft-lbs of thrust and capable of propelling the driver from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds. A 5-speed automatic transmission is mated behind all the horsepower, which sporty drivers can operate using a race car-style steering column gearshift with manual mode.
No expense was spared to build this- Clean Carfax, very low mileage, well maintained Mercedes into what it is today- A combination of class, performance, and extraordinary styling piece of rolling art.
